What They Say About Touring Ireland with Us
These are just a few of the letters and emails we have received from people who have toured with us in the past.
Robert James Waller
Photographer and author of "The Bridges of Madison County"
Our guide was a consummate professional: thorough, knowledgeable, an experienced driver, and the possessor of a finely-honed sense of humor.
I spent twelve enjoyable days with him in April 2003 while doing serious photography along the west coast of Ireland. No matter how many times I requested, "Please turn around, I saw an interesting door back there," he was always of good cheer and accommodating. If you want a worry-free tour through Ireland, I highly recommend this service.

I want to recommend IrelandEscorted.com, who I had the occasion to use for about 10 days while on a trip to Ireland.
My party and I found our guide to be extremely gracious, competent, knowledgeable and well organized. He made the entire group feel at home. Seeing the beauty of Ireland this way was a special treat indeed. When we left we all felt we had left a dear friend and at the same time found one.
When my travels take me to Ireland again, I intend to use this service again and I feel confident in highly recommending them as a fine and capable company.

We had a fantastic week in Ireland. We started in Dublin, then spent 2 days in Kilkenny, 3 days in Killarney, and then made our way back to Dublin.
We had a superb time - not only is Ireland very well prepared for tourism but our guide was a brilliant representative of his country. He kept us all amused with stories and myths of the country. I can highly recommend Ireland Escorted to anyone planning a trip to Ireland."

Small Escorted Tours was the perfect solution to our travel dilemma: how to see the best of Ireland without being confined to a tour bus or attempting to drive on the left-hand side of the road. Our trip, including family members from 47 to 81, was a great success.
We started out from Dublin, spent one night each in Kilkenny, Kinsale and Killarney, and the last two nights in the charming city of Galway. Along the way, we visited Powerscourt, Glendalough, Kilkenny Castle, Cobh’s Emigration Museum, Kenmare, the Dingle Peninsula, the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. It sounds like a lot to cover in five days, but we never felt rushed and were always informed and entertained.
The broad knowledge, keen insights and engaging personality of our guide/driver, Mr. Michael Fitzgerald, kept us charmed, interested and often laughing throughout the tour. An unscheduled side trip, into the depths of the Burren to visit the marvelous garden of the Burren Perfumery, is just one example of the benefits of SET’s customized service. No tour bus could ever have accommodated such an individual interest or negotiated those very narrow roads.
You know you’ve had a wonderful time when a dozen experiences, such as this one, vie in your mind for highlight of the trip, and that was the happy predicament in which we found ourselves.
We couldn’t have been more pleased with our accommodations, but were, ultimately, most grateful for the luxury of following our own itinerary – one geared to our tastes and enthusiasms, rather than the standard tourist fare. It made all the difference in providing us with many memories to cherish and recount.
If the thought of plastic shamrocks, windsock leprechauns, diesel fumes, and shopping opportunities masquerading as historic sites leaves you cold, then this is definitely the way to go. Do a little research, decide what interests you, then put yourself in their hands. Small Escorted Tours will give you value for money and a chance to learn about the real Ireland of yesterday and today, instead of merely the usual kitschy stereotypes. I recommend them highly.
